DHS OIDO
As creative director for the Office of the Immigration Detention Ombudsman (OIDO) awareness project, I led the strategy and development of a campaign designed to support DHS detainees and their families through the detention process. This work was about more than just design—it was about creating clear, accessible, and compassionate communication for people navigating a complex and often overwhelming system.
My team and I developed a range of materials to reach detainees where they are, including TV PSAs, a visual guidebook, infographics, and out-of-home advertising to raise awareness of OIDO’s services. To ensure the campaign felt authentic and resonated with its audience, I also led an on-location photoshoot at a DHS detention facility, building a library of real, human-centered imagery for future OIDO materials. This project was both creatively and personally meaningful, reinforcing the power of thoughtful design in making vital resources more accessible to those who need them most.
